Campaigning for home education rights in Brighton & Hove

We are a group of home educators in Brighton & Hove set up with the aims of
  • working with Brighton & Hove council for a constructive relationship with the home education community
  • coordinating local community responses to government attempts to monitor and regulate home education

We are engaged in a dialogue with the Childrens and Young People's Trust in Brighton & Hove, with the aim of encouraging them to develop a policy on home education which:

  • is fair, clear and legal
  • shows a good understanding of how home ed works, and
  • respects home educating families’ choices and rights

We report back regularly to the home education community in Brighton & Hove and the surrounding area, by distributing free newsletters at local groups, and through local and national online discussion lists.  You can see the newsletters we have published so far on this website.
